200-word Reflection
Exploring websites and looking into games and narratives, I grow fonder at the past and observed how far we have come. I've seen an inspiring new format of visual story-telling, blending graphic novels and interactivity with The Boat by Nam Lee and Matt Hugnh. I've seen voices being heard and artists being recognized with magazines and websites such as Forge and Games for Change; matters of climate change and equality are being broadcast for the masses to hear, creating spaces where people can collaborate and innovate.
Reflecting, I find myself observing the video game aspects of this research task, myself experiencing the games: Tomb Raider and Minecraft. Both of these games in particular have shaped the industry, seeing how women have become more recognized as main characters and not as "eye-candy", and Minecraft's legacy of childhood games both translate through generations.
These platforms/stories are building blocks for the next innovative thing to come along, whether it's a new platform or a style of medium or inclusion of those who aren't heard, we will build new and exciting things for the future. When I look at all the stories I get to hear/experience I get a rush of inspiration and drive to create something that is just as special as what I get to experience, creating to inspire.
Notes/Research

Evaluation
This research task was really interesting, I really liked taking time to explore what opportunities have come up in these industries and I liked seeing some new ways of story-telling too.
However, like most research tasks, I feel like I ended up moving away from what the intended point of this research task was in my notes, I ended up writing about a newer video game that has caused some news and rippled throughout the video game industry (in a positive light). So I didn't include that into my 200 word because I felt like it was way out of context.
I did also talk about newer adaptations from video game to TV and how it expands their viewership to more people, so they can hear the stories and experience that art-form. However, that also deviated from the intention of the task.
I tried my best to be reflective while sticking to some of the focus of the research task, but I don't think I did very well with this.
As I prepare myself for the next assignment, I will take these inspirations and apply it along with my learning as I try to create inspiring pieces of work.
