Exercise: Reflection on Project 9 (Assignment 9)

Reflecting on my work alongside my tutor's feedback, I will consider what I need to carry out into my next assignment.

My planning process really carried me throughout this assignment, researching about different lettering techniques, colouring digitally, creating fight scenes in comics and creating a compelling front cover. Developing a mood board, scripting and character design helped a lot to keep consistency in my work; my thumb-nailing was good, although it would have been much better if I did them larger and more coherent, as I could've had stronger pages with better composition.

The creative process was good and quick due to the digital medium but it was quite flat and I had to add texture to make the comic more appealing and textured, I would really like to attempt traditional medium to make the comic more artistic and unique. Ideally, I really need to work on creating more detail in my line work, looking back at my mood board, I picked images that resonated with me, and those images had a lot more detailing and interest in their work.

My tutor feedback and my reflection have helped me direct what I need to improve and maintain for my next assignment.
